Edenmill in Petaling Jaya has a large brick-and-glass hall for up to 500 guests and a private patio outside. Most hosts we speak to want to use both: welcome drinks and 小点心 on the patio while guests arrive, then everyone moves inside for the meal.
That split works well with a banquet or 自助餐 indoors. The thing to plan is the hand-over time between the two areas, usually 45 minutes to an hour, so the hall is set and the first dishes are hot when the doors open.
